California’s Govenor Schwarznegger has vetoed the Zinfandel from becoming the Historic Wine Of California. The govenor wrote “It would be a shame, to effectively snub Cabernet and spite Chardonnay” referring to the other two very popular Californian wines which unlike Zinfandel are found throughout the world not just in Calfornia. The decision was made late last month after the issue was brought before the State government. In the Napa valley Cabernet is considered to be the signature wine (This does not mean that Zinfandel is not produced at all in the Napa Valley) but most of the other less well known valleys produce Zinfandel as their signature wine.
