As a Holiday promotion Delorean and American Express decided to produce one hundred gold plated Delorean DMC-12’s which were to be sold exclusively to American Express Gold cardholders. However only two were ever sold. The first was sold to the Snyder National Bank in Snyder, Texas (it is currently on loan to the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles) and the second was sold to the William F. Harrah Foundation National Automobile Museum in Reno, Nevada.
