McLaren have released their first GT qualifying road car as part of the homologation process to enter the FIA GT3 European Championships. The car takes it styling cues from the legendary McLaren F1 GTR. The MP4-12C GT3 is based on the MP4-12C and has been adapted by engineers from McLaren so the carbon fiber chassis can withstand the sustained speed and performance needed for professional racing. The exterior is much more imposing than the regular MP4-12C and the interior is bare in order to save weight.
