The latest item from cognac producers Martell is the L’Or De Jean cognac named after Jean Martell who founded Martell in 1715. The L’Or De Jean cognac is made from aged eau-de-vie from the Borderies region which is the smallest region of Cognac. The cognac is made by blending various eau-de-vie’s some dating back to 1830 together and give it a unique taste with notes of fruity candy, cinnamon and sweet spices. The L’Or De Jean Martell cognac comes in hand made bottles made of Sèvres crystal and only two hundred and fifty bottles have been made.
