The driver of a red Ferrari Enzo lost control of the exotic car at high speed this morning on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, and the vehicle disintegrated after striking a power pole. The driver fled. His passenger suffered a cut lip. The driver escaped after the 6:15 am crash and the passenger stayed behind. The engine was on the highway and the Ferrari wreckage was several hundred yards away in the west Malibu area near Decker Canyon. Pacific Coast Highway was shut down for more than two hours. A three-hour foot and helicopter search failed to find the Ferrari driver.
The passenger who is also the owner has been confirmed as the former executive of the failed handheld games company Gizmondo.
